A carbon footprint is the total sum of greenhouse gas emissions caused directly or indirectly by a person, organisation, event or product.
The unit of carbon footprint is the carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e). With its help, the global warming potential (GWP) of individual greenhouse gases can be plotted on a single scale.
Why is it worth calculating a carbon footprint?
Calculating and reporting an organisation’s carbon footprint is becoming an obligation. According to the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), this will extend to all companies regardless of sector and size in the next few years.
Non-financial data, including the carbon footprint of an organisation are becoming increasingly important in the selection of contractors.
What do we offer?
Calculation of an organisation’s carbon footprint covering all 3 scopes:
Scope 1 – direct emissions
Scope 2 – indirect energy emissions
Scope 3 – indirect emissions in the organisation’s value chain
Standard
We perform the calculation of an organisation’s carbon footprint in accordance with the GHG Protocol standard.
As part of the service we will prepare:
- a calculation report describing the methodology of the project performed
- recommendations for reducing the carbon footprint
- a file with the calculations, so that you can update the calculations yourself in subsequent years.
It is a good idea to prepare in advance for the directive’s guidelines even if the company is not yet subject to the obligation to report non-financial information. We therefore invite you to cooperate with us now.
